Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 9 September 2026

These terms cover two different things: using this website, and hiring me to work. Most of it is short, because most of it is obvious. Where it isn't obvious, I've tried to say plainly what happens rather than bury it in a clause.

1 - Who you're dealing with

Roxy JC, Magersfonteinstraat, Amsterdam, The Netherlands. KVK: 90534247. info@roxyjc.nl

"I", "me" and "my" mean Roxy JC. "You" means you, whether you're reading this site or hiring me.

2 - Using this site

You're welcome here. Browse, read, get in touch.

This site sets no tracking cookies and runs no analytics. What it does and does not collect is set out in full in the privacy policy, and that document is the accurate one. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.

I try to keep everything here current and correct, but prices, availability and portfolio content change. Nothing on this site is a binding offer until I have confirmed it to you in writing.

3 - The photographs and designs on this site

Every image on this site - photographs, posters, artwork, layouts - is mine, and I keep the copyright. The same goes for the text. What that means in practice:

  • You may look at it, link to any page, and share a link on social media.

  • You may not copy, download, republish, resell, sub-license or redistribute the images or text, or use them to train an AI model, without my written permission.

  • Press and event listings: if you need an image of a show I have shot or designed for a listing or an article, ask me. I usually say yes, and I will send you a proper file with the credit I need.

Credit is "Roxy JC" unless we have agreed otherwise.

4 - Hiring me

The packages and prices on the Prices page are starting points, quoted excluding VAT. Anything outside them is on consultation. How it works:

  • You tell me what you need. We have a meeting to clarify the idea - that is included in every package.

  • I confirm scope, price and dates in writing before I start. That confirmation, together with these terms, is our agreement.

  • Prices exclude VAT (BTW), which is added at the applicable Dutch rate.

  • Invoices are payable within 14 days unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.

  • If you need to move a shoot date, tell me as early as you can and I will move it if I can. Cancellations close to the date may be invoiced for work already done and studio time already booked.

  • Revisions are as listed in the package. Beyond that I will quote before doing the work, rather than surprise you with it afterwards.

5 - Photography on the day

If I am shooting an event, the people in the room may end up in the pictures. How that is handled - performers, clients, audience members, and how to ask for an image to be taken down - is set out in section 4 of the privacy policy. Dutch portrait rights (portretrecht, Article 21 of the Copyright Act) apply, and I respect them.

If I am working at your event, you are responsible for safe access to the space and for making attendees aware that photography is happening. At my own shows, the Events Safety Protocol applies to everyone in the room, me included.

6 - What you get, and what I keep

For commissioned work, you get the right to use the delivered images or designs for the purpose we agreed - your poster, your release, your campaign. I keep the copyright.

I keep the right to show the work in my portfolio and on social media, except for commissioned portrait and studio work, where I ask first. If you need the work kept private, say so before we start and I will agree it in writing.

7 - Liability

I do this work carefully and to a professional standard. But:

  • I cannot promise this website is always available or entirely free of errors.

  • Where something goes wrong with paid work, my liability is limited to the fee for that project, except where the law does not allow that limit - which includes death or personal injury caused by negligence, and fraud.

  • I am not responsible for the content of other people's websites, including the venues, clients and Instagram pages I link to.

If something has gone wrong, email me first. Most things are a misunderstanding I can fix in a day.

8 - Changes to these terms

If these terms change, I will update this page and change the date at the top. The version that applies to your booking is the one in force when I confirmed it in writing.

9 - Law and disputes

Dutch law applies, and the courts of Amsterdam have jurisdiction.

For anything about your personal data specifically, the privacy policy explains your rights and how to complain to the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
